To date, the Federal Animal Protection Act does not do justice to the principle of animal dignity enshrined in the Constitution. This is especially true in increasingly intensive Swiss agriculture, where non-human animals endure massive interventions that deeply disrupt their lives.
A drastic reduction in the consumption of animal products is essential, and this must be accompanied by political reforms to promote a more dignified life for animals in Switzerland.
